Jeffrey A. Butts is director of the Research and Evaluation Center at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and senior research advisor at the Vera Institute of Justice in New York City. Since 1991, he has managed more than $10 million of research and evaluation projects focused on youth justice programs and policy. Previously, he was a research fellow with Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago and director of the Program on Youth Justice at the Urban Institute in Washington, DC. He began his career as a drug and alcohol counselor with the juvenile court in Eugene, Oregon. Go here for more information.
