Coalition for Juvenile Justice 2010 Conference

The Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ) is pleased to announce its 2010 Annual National Conference, Hill Day and Member Meeting, to be held April 10-13 at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown, Washington, DC.
The theme of the conference, “Ensuring School Engagement and Success for Youth At-Risk” is expected to draw more than 250 juvenile justice practitioners and advocates from across the U.S. and its territories.
 
Primary goals for the 2010 CJJ annual conference include:

 
1) Highlighting best practices, policies and innovations in reducing the over-representation of youth of color in special education and juvenile justice
 
2) Demonstrating how cross-system collaboration among school mental health professionals, community-based organizations and juvenile justice personnel results in improved school outcomes for youth and fewer referrals to the juvenile court
 
3) Showcasing successful partnerships between local law enforcement and school districts that have resulted in diversions from the juvenile court and/or to successful re-integration following detention or out-of-home placement
 
Currently, CJJ is seeking financial co-sponsorships for the conference.   Sponsorship levels begin at $1000 and include prime sponsors of $25,000 or more. Conference sponsors (at any level) will be informed of all aspects of conference planning, receive discounted (member-rate) registrations and be prominently included as a sponsor of the event on CJJ’s website (www.juvjustice.org) and in all conference-related materials.
