Changing Lives Through Literature - Free Webinar

You may remember "Changing Lives Through Literature" (CLTL), an amazing alternative-sentencing program created by Robert Waxler, an English professor, and Judge Robert Kane, a former Massachusetts Superior Court justice. The progam is based on the idea that studying literature can change lives.

Since its founding in 1991, CLTL has spread throughout the country and affected thousands of lives, juveniles and adults alike. It's won numerous awards and been featured in national media outlets like The New York Times, Parade Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, and the TODAY Show. In addition, research indicates that it successfully reduces reoffending. 
Now you can learn more about Changing Lives Through Literature in a free webinar, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 17th at 12pm-1:30pm PDT / 3-4:30pm EDT. This 90-minute presentation with Dr. Robert Waxler and members of the Reclaiming Futures Bristol County site will provide an overview of the program, along with details from Bristol County on their local implementation and experiences with Changing Lives Through Literature.
On the webinar, a number of perspectives will be represented. In addition to Professor Waxler, there'll be several individuals experienced in implementing the program in juvenile court in Bristol County, including the Honorable Bettina Borders; Ms. Stella Rebeiro, the county's chief juvenile probation officer (see my two-part interview with her); a CLTL group facilitator, Susan Jennings; police Captain Joseph Cordeiro; and Reverend Lawrence, who's invested in the Bristol County program.
