About Us
Barium Springs/District 30 includes seven counties within Western NC. These seven counties are equal to the size of the State of Rhode Island and the District of Columbia combined. The counties include Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Cherokee, Clay, Swain and Graham, making this the largest Reclaiming Futures site in the nation.
Barium Springs/District 30 has a shortage of providers for substance abuse services within the area. Reclaiming Futures Barium Springs/District 30’s overall goal is to improve the quality of alcohol and drug treatment services available to youth in our justice system by:
- Improving treatment services for drug and alcohol use
- Creating a comprehensive system of care that coordinates social services
- Involving the community in creating new opportunities for youth
