About Us

Between 2006 and 2008, drug and alcohol related adjudications in Hardin County’s juvenile court increased by 89%. Two-thirds of Hardin County youth see no problems or risks associated with binge drinking, and 1/5 see no problem with using heroin. It is estimated that 85% percent of youth in the current juvenile court treatment program come from homes where there is substance abuse.

Reclaiming Futures Hardin County (also known as Hardin Partnership to Aid Community Teens (Hardin PACT) is partnering with the courts, treatment facilities, juvenile justice, community and families to meet the urgent needs of these young people in our juvenile justice system. Our drug court will successfully graduate 30 new youth annually, and 120 new youth over the four years of grant funding. Our overall goals include reducing substance use, increasing academic success, reducing new offenses and probation violations, and increasing access to quality mental health and substance abuse services.

We are doing the following to help young people in our area:

  • Developing individualized treatment plans for each youth based on comprehensive evidenced-based screening and assessment tools
  • Providing drug and alcohol education and treatment by implementing evidence based treatment approaches and health-related workshops
  • Providing youth with intensive supervision, to include random drug screening, home visits, office visits, and weekly status hearings
  • Connecting youth with mentors and educational and vocational services
  • Carrying out a media campaign to reinforce anti-drug messages in the community via TV, radio, and print media
